Welcome to Woodward

Woodward is an urban public school serving Pre-K-5th grade students in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Woodward has a caring, hard-working staff that is focused on the social/emotional growth of children as well as their academic growth.

Woodward offers a full-day PEEP (Great Start Readiness Program for four year olds) and a full-day kindergarten program that provide creative learning experiences and promote healthy social relationships, self-discovery, and the development of critical thinking skills. The school offers hands-on exploration in a variety of environments including a community garden and off-campus experiential learning. Woodward is a full-service Communities In Schools of Kalamazoo partner. Many volunteers serve at our school including students from Kalamazoo College.

Currently Woodward hosts two after school programs. Club Grub enrollment for up to 15 2nd and 3rd graders. Students will be given an application to join. Club Grub meets Tuesdays and Thursdays during the majority of the school year. There is no transportation provided for students in Club Grub. . CIS After School Program (ASP) will generally accept up to 35 students, but that number is based on staffing. ASP operates Monday - Thursday from 3:15-5:30 PM. Transportation is provided..
